History of AFL
AFL was first established in 1877. Carlton, East Melbourne, Essendon, Geelong, Melbourne, St. Kilda and West Melbourne were the first teams that played in the AFL.
In 1885 Richmond and university (port adelaide) joined the VFA bringing the total number of clubs in the competition to 10.
AFL was first VFL which was just in Victoria but then it went to other states and capitals all over the country.
